“Saturday, one local charity fed hundreds of families in Manito.
Nine years John Lorek started Illinois Ability Sports, a charity set up to help feed families, as he says his own family knows what it is like to need extra help sometimes. The organization works with the Midwest Foodbank of Peoria to donate food to those in need.
‘Vast majority of them are really appreciative and say god bless you and thank you and that’s what we live for,’ said Lorek. ‘We do a big distribution, once a week, or once every two weeks for manito, lewistown, and havana.'”
