“More than 260 households signed up for the inaugural six-month Piedmont Climate Challenge, which resulted in reduction of 152 tons of greenhouse gas emissions and saved residents an estimated $38,274, said Susan Miller Davis of nonprofit group Piedmont Connect. Sixteen households met the goal of cutting their greenhouse gases (GHG) by at least 5,000 pounds by employing steps large or small to meet the challenge. Households reported taking 457 climate-friendly actions toward that goal. Points earned were on the honor system.”
