Police rescue woman, her dog from flooded SUV in White Rock Creek in Far North Dallas

Police rescued a woman and her dog from a flooded SUV stuck in White Rock Creek early Thursday.

Around 12:20 a.m. Thursday, police responded to a high-water rescue call in the 6400 block of Spring Valley Road between Hillcrest and Preston roads.

When officers arrived, they found a vehicle in the creek, police said. An officer guided the woman through the water to safety, according to Dallas Fire-Rescue.

The woman was examined by medics and did not need to be taken to a hospital, Dallas Fire-Rescue said.

A heavy-duty wrecker lifted the white Range Rover from the creek, which was about 60 feet down from the road, according to KXAS-TV (NBC5). The process reportedly took about five hours.”
