Good News Notes:
“The organization transports at-risk animals and connects them with shelters across the country. Schneider said his mission in Maine was a rewarding one and saved one dog from being euthanized. He also described what it was like to pilot a small plane full of animals.
‘They might bark a little bit or meow a little bit, but once you start up the engine, the vibration, the noise, they generally just go to sleep,’ said Schneider, the founder of Pilots to the Rescue. ‘So they were good “pawsengers,” as we say.’
The animals will be cared for by the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland and volunteers there haven’t yet revealed when they may be available for adoption.”
