“Chef José Andrés is working with his nonprofit organization World Central Kitchen to help feed Texas residents as they continue to be affected by Winter Storm Uri. Last Wednesday, World Central Kitchen landed in Dallas and has since been teaming up with local restaurants to provide food to vulnerable communities in the Dallas and Fort Worth, TX, areas as they’ve dealt with power outages and other challenges.
Notably, the organization collaborated with Kwench, a juice bar, and Tupelo Honey, a Southern restaurant. These restaurants helped in World Central Kitchen’s goal to provide food to senior citizen centers and shelters in the area. According to EATER, the Wicked Butcher in Fort Worth prepared plates of chicken and vegetables and in Houston, World Central Kitchen helped to distribute 2,000 plates of chicken wings, sandwiches, and other meals.”
