“As thousands of Triad neighbors struggle financially during the pandemic, the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina continues to increase its food distribution opportunities.
On Saturday, hundreds of cars lined up in rainy downtown Winston-Salem to take part in drive-through style grocery pick-up event.
Some cars show up the day before to secure a spot. Volunteers and staff with partner Wells Fargo loaded meat, fruit, bread and even hand sanitizer into their cars.
Second Harvest estimated more than 2,000 people could be fed for weeks through this one event.”
