“Volunteers, neighborhood residents and government officials gathered on a cold and windy Thursday morning to mark the beginning of the cleanup of an illegal dumping ground in Trenton.
The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection joined forces with United by Blue and the East Trenton Collaborative to clean up what once had been a livestock facility for the Taylor Pork Roll factory in 1890.
The now vacant lot in Amtico Square had become home to hundreds of tires, discarded mattresses and trash. It may become a park or a skate park in the months to come.”
