“Last week, families who registered for Toy for Joy were able to pick up the books and presents for their children and get them wrapped and ready to be opened tonight or Christmas morning, depending on their traditions.
For many years the Hampden County Sheriff’s Department has made an annual donation to Toy for Joy to help make sure these families had enough gifts. But this year Sheriff Nick Cocchi wanted to do more to help children have a joyful Christmas.”
“Toy for Joy is a collaborative effort by the Salvation Army in association with The Republican, El Pueblo Latino and MassLive to provide gifts to children in Hampden, Hampshire and Franklin counties. The charity has collected $98,073 and still needs $51,927 to reach its $150,000 goal by Christmas Day.”
