“Saturday morning was a day of service for about 150 student-athletes from Aurora University who took part in the annual “Morning of Service” event.”
“The three-hour volunteer effort supported eight Aurora nonprofits, ranging from Aurora’s Fire and SciTech museums to homeless shelters, the Salvation Army and local food pantries.”
“When this first started, we had just one morning of service in the spring and another later in the fall but now, we’re doing two each season with one just for students and the other with our athletes,” he said. “The idea is that we want to give back to the community.”
